American Airlines will launch daily non-stop flights from Boston to Manchester from 15 May for the summer season.
 
First Choice Airways is set to become the first charter airline with more legroom than some scheduled aircraft. The operator has removed one row of seats in its aircraft to create a 33-inch seat pitch (the distance between your seat and the one in front) in economy and 36 inches in its premium cabin. The revamped aircraft will operate on long-haul routes from Summer 2005.
 
MyTravelLite is to charge passengers £15 each way for a seat with more legroom, eg, those beside an emergency exit. These "upgrades" will be available at check-in.
British Airways has discounted thousands of seats to Spain and Portugal by up to £40. Popular holiday destinations including Alicante, Ibiza, Menorca, Malaga, Palma, Seville, Valencia, Faro and Porto (from Gatwick) are on sale from £69.
 
Easyjet is paying the government tax on every flight from the UK to Europe, which will save travellers £5 per one-way trip (£10 return). The discount will be given when the total price of the booking is calculated. Travel until 30 October. Book by midnight, Thursday 29 April.
 
GB Airways will add flights from Gatwick to Ibiza, (Thursday-Sunday) from 21 May from £95 return, and to Bastia, Corsica (Sundays) from 2 May from £159 return.
