NEWS:
Thompson increases winter departures to Egypt

Thomson has tripled capacity to Egypt for winter with the addition of regional flight departures and more than 30 new hotels.

The capacity hike is concentrated on the so-called Red Sea Riviera resorts of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada.

Charters from Luton, Bristol, East Midlands, Newcastle and Glasgow have been added to Gatwick and Manchester services to Sharm el Shiekh for winter 2004-05. Birmingham will also gain a link to Luxor, joining established flights from Gatwick and Manchester.

Thomson has introduced 22 more hotels on the Red Sea Riviera and 10 all-inclusive properties.

Prices for seven nights bed and breakfast start at £269 in Sharm el Shiekh from Luton in December.

Thomson managing director Chris Mottershead described the Red Sea Riviera as a “fantastic new holiday destination” which has benefited from a “huge amount” of investment from Egyptian authorities.

“We have made it far easier to get to by offering seven different UK airports as well as very affordable prices,” he added.
